These are my crazy kids , I think they actually like each other it least thats what it looks like. We were actually supposed to be raking the leaves up but we took a time out to just enjoy each other, Sadly I don't stop and do that as much as I would like to . The hustle and bustle of the day to day keeps me occupied. hope you like the pics as much as we do!!!

Gabe's teacher after the pies! great teachers

What a good weekend after a short week at school on Friday the kids got to spend the night at Appa and Poppa's (i had to work). Saturday they all went to see Madagascar 2 and loved it! Thanks A & P for the help. They always love being there.

Ahhh its Fall Family Fest at the kids school again . As you might remember the ( as Eric likes to call it ) crazy basket time of '07. I will admit I did go a lil crazy last year but this year I was not involved so it was so much more enjoyable. The silent auction went well and I hope Gabes class gets alot of money. The kids had a great time !!! face painting , cake walk , and the disco room were their favorites. Gabe had a blast at the pie throwing booth, he nailed his teacher in the face ( slight revenge from all those sticks) . Mollie had fun trying to get her teacher but didn't do near the damage. The teachers were such good sports , it is a great school. After running around like crazy we finally went home to relax. Gabe had his "friend " Madisyn over and they all had fun. They all crashed from a wild day. enjoy the pics!

my lil Oompa loompa and violet

and we are off!!!

Its that time of year again , I really love fall with the cooler air and beautiful leaves falling , but my favorite is getting the kids in the costumes and going out .The other nite we headed to the worlds largest halloween party ( their words not mine) for trick or treating . every station was a different theme , my fave was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory , I love the picture of Gabe as an Oompa Loompa and Mols as Violet. mia really did try to eat the giant ice cream cone. We all had such a great time.

Yesterday was a big day for Halloween i was at school all afternoon . First I was working on the class baskets for the silent auction next week . Then it was on to the parties . Mols had her first school party and loved every minute of it. they ate , played games and got a huge goody bag. After all that it was on to Gabe's party . they made these really cute " ghost family" on a hanger , and there was so much food it was like a buffet free for all . mia was a big hit all the kids loved her and kept giving her things, she ended up with more treats then thay did.

After school we rested up for the big nite, we trick-or treated our neighbors , then went over to the Potts and hit up all their neighbors. They even went to a haunted house ( all but mia ) the kids made this really cute craft . Top off the night with some yummy pizza from Eric. Good fun with good friends and good food all in all the perfect halloween nite.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

Displaying those pumpkins with pride

Mols with her lil friend

One of my favs- he chooses one that is biggger then his head.

Careful Mia

A couple of weekends ago we went to see Carrol (mother in law) while we were there we went to a Pumpkin Patch and got some great looking pumpkins and some orchard apples and drank apple cider. After the pumpkin patch we went to see Eric's uncle Arrowe, He lives outside of town so there was lots of nature around. The kids got to ride the 4 wheeler, feed fish at the pond and play with a big frog. (Mols caught it ) The weather was perfect and it was a great day. I just love days like these.

Colonial Williamsburg

I love this pic!

sisterly love.

What a sweet face.

Mia did kindof get stuck

right where those crazy kids belong.

Part of our trip was to Williamsburg. It was so great learning and seeing all the history of this place. The kids got their period hats here . I love the little bonnets on the little girls . It was so neat to see life was hard and hard work but was a much simpler time and safer world to live in then today. We really enjoyed this part , I enjoyed watching Maya and how much she loved to see everything. Making great memories is what it is about.

All around the town

This is one of my very favorites. great pic

Lincoln Memorial

thats all of us (minus Stephen and Me)

Science Museum

Maya in front of her future home
WW2 Memorial

I love this one of all of Trigg Lynn's grand kids and great grand kids. Thanks to him we can all be here in this great country today. Thanks pop.
On Saturday we set out to see the town. All 14 of us yep 14 that was fun but hard to keep up with everyone. We went to see the constitution and bill of rights and magna carta first ( which was very cool). Then on to the mall and all the memorials and I mean all the memorials. Then on to the Science Museum (which was pretty good if you like science) My favorite part of the day was at sunset seeing the monument reflecting off the water . The WW2 Memorial was so beautiful and touching. The Vietnam Memorial was on of the last we saw that day and was so somber seeing all those names of those who died for our country that we may always enjoy our freedom was very moving. We got to ride the metro (mols fav) back to the hotel and rest after one very long but exciting day!

Just A Lil History

What a view.
The Eternal Flame for JFK
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

We had a big day on Thursday touring Gettysburg and Antietam . I was not really interested in this before going but found the history fascinating . Eric has successfully passed down his love of history to our eldest. I have to say it was sad to be there you could almost see and feel the soldiers of both sides who believed in their cause so much they were willing to die for it. I really have a whole new understanding of and about the civil war.

On Friday morning we went on into Washington DC to Arlington Cementery . The tomb of the unknown soldier was very emotional watching the changing of the guards was so interesting, the crowd was fascinated as you could hear a pin drop. The memorial for the Kennedys was next , I didn't realize Jackie lost a baby girl in April and her husband in November the same year. The kids really enjoyed touring the Arlington House and seeing how life was for the Lee Family. Did you know Robert E. Lee and George Washington were related but only through Martha Washington? just a lil history for you. After this it was on to the airport to meet the Roberts.
